Pastor Houser’s sermon. Amos 5:18-24 was the first reading, Thessalonians 4: 13-18 the second and Matthew 5:18-24 the Gospel. From Amos, “Let justice roll down like waters and righteousness like an an ever flowing stream”. Justice is a good thing, but those who are guilty look for mercy. We are guilty sinners and none of us is innocent.

In Thessalonians, Paul tell us we have hope because of Jesus Christ and God’s grace and mercy. Our righteousness is in Christ. “Let justice roll down like waters” is not good news for us sinners. However we are made clean by the blood of our Lord Jesus. We will stand before God, but it will be a happy days for us.
